UPDATE: Drunken Masters video review on FoxNews.com's PointClickAndGo!

I was goofing off on YouTube yesterday and found these. I thought they were pretty fun, so I thought you guys might like them. If you've got a Drunken Masters video that you'd like up here, go ahead and send me the link.

The RedStar Blaster is the closest I could get to a Jager bomb without setting myself up for a serious lawsuit...Dbrown88 shows you how it's really done.

I thought this one was pretty dope- this guy's better at the game than I am.  He almost pronounced my last name right, too- no easy task.  "Frank cusses a lot"- classic.

Epic abuse of the Iron Curtain signature move, and I get called out on ripping off Red Bull.

Got a Drunken Masters video to show off? Send me the link, and I'll put it up on the site.

The Music of Drunken Masters
User Rating: / 0

A lot of players have written in asking about about the game's music. I listened to quite a few different tracks before deciding on the ones that would make it in the game, and I'm glad to see that so many of you enjoyed these songs as much as I do.

Independent music takes a lot of dedication and talent- if you like the tracks, make sure you show the artists some support.

So without further ado, and even though this information is already in the game's credits, here is the music of Drunken Masters.

The Final Countdown(DjEagle Remix)
Artist DjEagle
In-Game Character Select / Promotions / Title Screen
Notes A trance remix of Europe's 1986 butt-rock ballad "The Final Countdown", DjEagle's track had exactly the energy and build-up that I wanted for the title screen and the promotions screen.

{Blaze}
Artist Ian Slider, a.k.a CornAndBeans
In-Game Regular shifts
Notes Super high energy- the first time I heard this track, I knew it was a keeper.

-=)Jazz Waltz(=-

Artist MJTTOMB
In-Game Tutorials and training rounds
Notes I didn't want to burn everybody out on techno before the game even started, and I needed a good contrast from the blasting intro track. Jazz Waltz's subtelty and class made it a complimentary theme song for Frank.

Momentum

Artist Masai (of Central Digit)
In-Game Power Hour
Notes I stumbled onto Masai's website by accident early in development. After I heard this track, I was pretty sure that he'd never let me use it- it's just too huge for an independent flash game. Obviously, I was wrong.

Raising the Bar

Artist Masai (of Central Digit)
In-Game Power Hour
Notes The shift schedule was one of the final pieces that I built for the game, so I had a lot of time to think about the music for that spot.  Not that I needed it.

The Making of April Showers
User Rating: / 0

For the first article of Drunken Masters trivia, I'll clear up some information on the most popular Drunken Masters character- April Showers.

Several players have asked who she was modelled after- some guesses were Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston.

When I was designing characters, I only had a couple guidelines- first, each player had to have a unique set of starting skills- one strength point and one special point, two dexterity points, etc.  Second, they had to be a character that was pretty interesting- someone that I'd have fun making.

Coming up with a character to fill the "two charisma points" slot was pretty easy- I think my first idea was to use an actor or an actress for that slot.  The porn-star thing came next.  I was really set on selling this game as hard as I could from the outset- and having a sexy in-game illustration was definitely on my list of things to come up with.

So Claire Skyyys was born.

I liked the name, but when my fraternity brother (and number one Drunken Masters cheerleader) Jerome saw it, he had something better- April Showers.  Clearly a superior name.

There were only three auditions for April.
The two that didn't make the game:
Francine
Merritt

All three went for that sweet, syrupy voice that I was looking for, but Rina-Chan really nailed exactly what I was looking for.

And for the picture- well, take a look.

That's pretty much all I can tell you about April Showers.  If you're interested in reading more behind-the-scenes goodness about Drunken Masters, hit the feedback form and let me know what you'd like to see next.
